Main Street in North Adams was alive with color, music, and community spirit on Sunday as residents and visitors gathered for the 69th Annual Fall Foliage Parade, a Berkshire County tradition celebrating local pride and the arrival of autumn.
This year’s theme, “To Northern Berkshire and Beyond,” sent floats and costumes soaring into outer space — with rockets, planets, and shimmering galaxy designs rolling through town.
Among the many groups participating were the MCLA athletics teams, proudly representing the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. Student athletes marched with enthusiasm, waving to the crowd and showing their connection to the local community.
Also joining the parade were several Berkshire dance teams, whose high-energy routines drew cheers and applause. Their bright costumes and synchronized choreography brought rhythm and joy to the streets.
Community groups and local businesses filled the parade with creative floats — some adorned with pumpkins, leaves, and hay bales, while others embraced the “space” theme with imaginative cosmic touches. From youth organizations to civic clubs, each entry reflected the region’s creativity and strong community spirit.
The event is organized annually by 1Berkshire, in partnership with the City of North Adams, as part of the weeklong Fall Foliage Festival, which also includes a 5K road race, children’s activities, and live performances across the city.
From floats and dancers to college athletes and marching bands, the 2025 Fall Foliage Parade once again showed that North Adams knows how to celebrate community — and the beauty of fall in the Berkshires.
